This modernist vase is by Livia Gorka, a major figure in Hungarian avant garde ceramics. Daughter of the renowned Geza Gorka, Livia was certified a master potter in 1947. Her designs often feature objects from nature but are also frequently abstract as with this piece. It is 9 3/8 inches tall, signed and in excellent condition. If you google her you will find quite a bit of information and other examples of her work in galleries.

Weighty sterling silver bangle bracelet by Danish maker Palle Bisgaard. The design is masterful and it's seemingly small size is deceptive - it has a nice weight at 51.1 grams. It's very striking and in lovely condition.

Simple, strong and bold design to this sterling silver and onyx ring. The long onyx bar (1 1/2" x 1/4") is secured by three silver brackets which wrap around the stone. The inner shank is marked 925 and the two symbols on the outer shank (pictured) appear on both sides of the ring. They are most likely makers marks and don't indicate any country of origin. The ring is a 6 1/2 and could be resized. Very well designed and executed piece.

Sterling silver necklace by David Andersen. Part of a series of pieces that utilized Nordic symbols in a modernized fashion, the pendant on this piece is 3 1/4 inches long by 2 1/4 inches wide. It is on a paper clip style chain which is marked 935 and OXO. In excellent condition, this is a classic David Andersen design.

Wonderful modernist belt by Guy Vidal, one of the leading Montreal based jewelers in the 1970s. With a brutalist design, the belt has roughly textured squarish shaped elements bisected horizontally by textured rods. There are 17 elements linked together with oval shaped links. The belt is 1 1/2 inches wide and 34 1/4 inches long. Fabulous looking modernist piece and very unique.

Large and unusual sterling silver pendant by David Andersen; the neckring is also sterling silver but is not original to the pendant. Measuring 2 1/2 inches in diameter, the pendant is made of two half circles bisected by a long concave oval made of curved thick wires. Lovely Scandinavian sterling silver and enameled pendant/pin. This very sculptural and stylized floral piece is lightly gilded. In excellent condition (the spot that may appear to be a chip in the enamel is not. It's a tiny glaze skip.) This can be worn as a pin or a pendant (see photo of the back). It measures 1 3/4" in diameter and is marked on the rear for Sterling Silver and with the signature of Karl Jorgen Otteren who also designed for David Andersen.

This Belgiorno silver bracelet is composed of 13 rounded, half moon shaped links (all linked by bars in the rear). Belgiorno, an Argentinian firm founded in 1931 by Antonio Belgiorno is still in business today in Buenos Aires. The bracelet is 7" x 3/4" and weighs a substantial 62 grams. The bracelet is marked as pictured with the AB mark for Antonio Belgiorno along with the company mark. In excellent condition, this is a great example of the period. West German ceramic vase with a rough textured finish and enameled center. The vase is 14" tall and tapered. The top and bottom sections have a rough textured greenish finish. The center is composed of three bands of abstractly painted circles that alternate in height within the band. In excellent condition and in a muted palette, this is a nice example of mid century production pottery.

Wonderful pair of huge sterling silver hoop earrings consisting of a loop of contiguous triangular shapes. Though large, these are comfortable on the ear. They are 2 3/8 inches in diameter and hang 3 inches. They are marked on the rear as pictured. The mark is a superimposed JM and also marked 925 (European designation for sterling). Unknown maker but very well designed and fun pair of eye catching earrings.
