Wonderful, mid century vase by Lu Klopfer. This pattern with it's vibrant color palette is probably his best known and was done in many sizes and shapes. Reminiscent of Guido Gambone, he may very likely have been influenced by him. The vase stands 9 1/2 inches tall and is in excellent condition.(one glaze pop incurred during production)

Wonderful and rare tile by H Schaffenacker who established his studio in 1948 in Ulm, Germany. He created many striking ceramic vases and the designs of his tiles/wall plaques vary from the completely abstract to highly stylized figures of horses, people, fish and other forms found in nature. This mid-century German vase by Carstens has a cobalt blue matte finish and metallic overlay decor pattern.
