This vase by Annikki Hovisaari is beautifully shaped and glazed. Made for Arabia, Finland it's circa 1950s-60s (Hovisaari worked for Arabia from 1949-1974). It stand eight inches tall and has a lustrous and subtly variegated glaze of brown, taupe, and maroon shades. Stunning piece.
This is an unusual piece of Scandinavian ceramics; a Danish urn with a highly architectural decor. The design could be construed as a cityscape. Geometric in construction and decor, this Danish piece is by Lise Vestergaard and signed on the outer bottom edge. It is 7 inches tall and 13 inches in diameter. Excellent condition and beautifully decorated and glazed.
Uncommon ceramic vase by John Andersson for Hoganas. Best known for his miniatures, this beautifully glazed piece is 6 1/4 inches tall and 14 inches in circumference. The fluid striped design is a blend of ochres, tans, and reddish browns. Absolutely beautiful piece signed as pictured and in excellent condition.
