| Wonderfully glazed studio pottery bowl by Mathies Schwarze. A master potter, who trained in Germany with some of the most preeminent ceramic artists, he has been working since the 1960s and now has his own school as well. The bowl has a variegated craquele glaze that seamlessly blends various shades of tans, reds and greys. A substantial and weighty piece, it is 6 1/2 inches tall and 25 inches in circumference. Signed on the base. Mathies' work has appeared in numerous competitions and is in several museums and private collections worldwide.
