| This art deco silver necklace is made from 835 silver (stronger than sterling) and is composed of 23 alternating links. (The necklace lies across the collarbones in a circle - it doesn't hang the way it appears on the necklace stand) The vertically oriented links are oxidized, closed and decorated with 3 beads enclosed in wire circles. The horizontal links are bright, open, and composed of undulating silver wire. The contrasts between light and dark, geometric and abstract, flat and fluid are what make this necklace so visually compelling. The necklace is a weighty 78 grams and is 14 1/2 inches long and 1 inch wide. It has a makers mark which I cannot identify and is also marked 835. It is most likely from Germany or Austria. | ||||||||
