| This German vase by Paul Dresler is from the Grootenburg Pottery he started in 1913. The sgrafito technique and copper reduction glaze are commonly found on Grootenburg pottery. The palette is often in various shades of dark greens and reds/maroons. This vase is 13inches tall and in excellent condition. It has an elegant and graceful design reflecting the more modern shapes that were introduced in the 1950s. The curve of the handle and the slant of the opening create a nice balance, offsetting the heaviness of the base. The Grootenburg pottery closed in 1961. | |||||||||
