| Studio pottery vase by Horst Kerstan who is considered one of the major ceramic artists of the 20th century. He studied with Richard Bampi in Kandern and then took over his studio when Bampi died in 1965. This is a favorite shape of the artist; see my archives for prior pieces sold. The glaze reflects the influence of Japan where he first traveled in 1970 and continued to visit and study ceramics both there and in Korea. This is 6 inches tall and 18 inches in circumference. Excellent condition and wonderful palette. | |||||||
